January 20th, 2019: Tommy Ketterhagen Memorial RR – Bertram, TX – 2nd Place W P123
January 26th, 2019: TX Chainring Massacre (Gravel) – Valley View, TX – #WHOMP-WHOMP – Several of us wiped out in a turn w 5 miles to go & I broke my femoral neck – Closed Reduction Surgery to repair 01/27. Off the bike for ~6 weeks.
UPDATE 01/30/19: The races in red below fall during my estimated recovery period and will be pulled from my schedule for 2019. I hope to race most of them in 2020. My preliminary goal is to return to racing on my 40th Birthday for Gravel Nats, although I will certainly not be back to 100% fitness just yet. I will call it a win if I’m simply capable of toeing the line and finishing that race.
UPDATE 03/20/19: Fortunately, healing is moving in the right direction and there have been no complications, but these things take time, and in the interest of my long term cycling “career”, I’m not rushing it. . . . still on crutches, so won’t make Gravel Nats, IWAR, or BWR, but I WILL BE BACK by DK200!
